Up with the Birds: With a 5:30am call time to make the most of the glorious sunlight, the cast and crew arrived at the iconic location of Whale Beach. A firm favorite for fashion and film shoots, the stunning beach on Sydney’s northern coast provided the perfect backdrop for the BECCA Shadow & Light campaign.
Close Quarters: Makeup was applied in the air-conditioned comfort of the set trailer (below). Hairstylist Koh gave Solveig’s loose waves plenty of texturizing spray and dry shampoo to create the perfect ‘day spent at the beach’ look.
Shady Ladies: To protect themselves from the strong Australian sun the BECCA team camped out under large golf umbrellas while watching the magic unfold. However BECCA Art Director, Zoe Sabbath did not escape without an unfortunately shaped ‘flip-flop burn’ and was the brunt of many good-humored jokes for the rest of the shoot.
BECCA Stylist Tip
Recreate Solveig’s sultry look by starting with the perfect base. Makeup artist Amanda Reardon started with Ever-Matte Shine Proof Foundation and Radiant Skin Creamy Concealer before buffing new Shadow & Light Bronze/Contour Perfector™ across forehead, down the hollows of the cheeks and jawline.
Behind the shoot
