Sara Phillips show - Cargo Hall, Overseas Passenger
Terminal Circular Quay, Sydney - Thursday, May 30th
Make-up direction: Max May for BECCA

Australian celebrity Make-Up Artist and editorial darling Max May created and directed the make-up look for standout newcomer and one-to-watch designer, Sara Phillips during Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, May 2009.

As one of the week's most anticipated collections, Max's clean make-up lines and strong emphasis on glowy, dewy skin perfectly aligned Sara's designs with BECCA's signature make-up philosophy.

"I adore BECCA and swear by it for all my clients whether they be models, mortals or celebrities - they all want me to make them look pretty and fresh - BECCA make-up does just that," says Max.

Backstage, Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal and Gold were on high rotation and cheeks were softly contoured with a golden sweep of BECCA Creme Blush in Byzantine for a healthy, spring vibe.

My favourite BECCA products are:
Three all time favs jump straight to mind here! I love the Creme Eye Colours. I love the texture when applying and the glossy creamy finish - it just brings the eye to life both on the set and in the picture. I also love and couldn't do a make-up without the Shimmering Skin Perfector - There’s a great colour range to choose from and the product is not greasy in any way whatsoever and the shimmer particle, unlike so many others is so fine.

I mix the golds and bronzes into my bases and use the silvers and pinks as highlighters. I mix them with a little moisturiser and Luminous Skin Colour and use them all over the body come swimwear season. The skin is left completely flawless and glowing. Last but not least the Pressed Bronzing Powders...you can never go past a great bronzing powder. I have tried and tested so many, but none compare. They are so easy to apply and the product is so fine it never catches and they are not all shimmer and cheap looking!!

My signature look is:
Brushed brows, soft thick brown lashes (golden bronze shadow across the eyelid for the evening), bronzed, contoured face and a good nude lip. Add a couple of subtle, gold highlights and any girl will be looking truly fresh and beautiful!

My favourite skin perfecting or make-up trick is:
I use two shades of foundation. One the exact colour of your skin and the other one shade darker for the contours. This technique will give you light and shade to your face and add gentle contours and highlights.

Recent jobs I loved doing:
I recently shot Emma Balfour for 10 magazine! Having the opportunity to work with a supermodel for an international magazine is quite a rarity in Australia.

Favourite designers:
Dion Lee, Balenciaga, Viktor and Rolf, Rick Owens, Proenza Schouler

People don't know this about me but:
Now if i told you that, people would know!
